I'm really glad its going to be Spring soon......

I'm sick of the cold and the snow. With the new Spring comes new beginnings. I will be starting a new beginning here and posting entries more often. To give everyone the 5 second update, I have a new job, we're selling the condo, and lots of other fun things.

One of the Best concerts ever....

I just got back from the Decatur Celebration weekend.... tired, sunburned, and completely satisfied. I saw one of the best concerts ever... Dennis DeYoung: The Music of Styx. Mr Roboto, Lady, Show me the Way, and many others. The music just wasn't good, it was the performance. He was dancing, acting crazy, and talking with the crowd. If you get a chance to see him in concert.. GO and don't hesitate. He's 50-plus and might not be around too much longer!!

Mardi Gras from another point of view

An exert from my good friend Melanie... Feel free to check her blog out at:

Monday, Feb. 27, 2006 - 9:53 A.M.

Restaurant of the Week:

The Hi-Way Bar - Located at the corner of 13th and Lynch in/near
Soulard.

SO...thanks to my good friend Dave Wayne (give us a wave, Dave)...I
discovered the best bar ever.

While at Mardi Gras, we got a little off the beaten path because of
promises of a Bachelor Party (where I could not only strip for money,
but drink cheap booze and have a private bathroom).

Well. We walk all the way out there, and there's NOTHING. Absolutely
NOTHING!

Great. Then...there's Mecca. This tiny bar on the corner. When we walk
in there's NO one in there but regulars. Some old school country is
playing in the background (you know: haggard, jones, and cline).

$1 Cans of beer (Natty Lite) and $2 Mixed drink...oh yeah. Shots of
Jager? $2

Best part? There are these amazing cheeseburgers for $2.50. And by
amazing I mean...microwavable cheeseburgers. Oh yes. And it had never
tasted so delicious.

So, I recommend it for a cheap night out. There were people dancing to
the music, and drinking. But if crazy lady is there. I'd run...some of
you know what I mean.

How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go?

I'm having one of those days that I'm thinking too much.......

Why does Life suck? It because we make wrong decisions. Why do we work so hard at living? We deciding to work extra hours and weekends to get more done. We do this to get the next promotion or more money so we feel better about ourselves. Do we really do, what we do, to be successful? Why do we make the decisions we do? Do we do it because we are scared of God and the penalty for not doing what he wants us to? We are all going to Hell based on our decisions or Life wouldn't suck. Do we really know God though? Can you explain him or what he wants us to do? Do you just fear Hell and want to get to heaven? Being human and explaining God is to being a fish and explaining what water is that it lives in. This is the “Great Spirit and maker of Life” and we can't understand or explain him. Knowing this, can you say that you are enjoying life, making the right decisions, and doing it instinctually?

What if I said you were more then you think you are? Who influences your future? You and the people around you. You decide who those people around you are. You decide if you will walk or drive. You decide to sleep or stay awake. You influence the future and everything around you. You are not alone with having this power. Everyone around you has that same power. This is the ultimate freedom. Choosing those people are that are around you most is your own decision. They will be making decisions that influence your future. This is the only purpose of Life, to develop those gifts of intentionally of being a creator and create the future as you go. You can see the affects of this gift as you live.

Acknowledge this gift of change and influence… and be enlightened to "What is a wrong decision?"

Chicago.... a great place to visit!!

FRIDAY
So I had an email from a friend of mine saying that we could go to a Cubs/Cardinal game and the ticket was only $35. I immediately started planning and gathering friends to come with me. It was my brother's B-day weekend and I wanted to have a weekend up in Chicago anyway. This was just to good of an opportunity to pass-up. The whole weekend started by waking up at 5:30am (after going to sleep at 2am or so) and driving to meet some friends over in Bloomington to carpool up to Chicago. We met my brother in Skokie at the hotel we were all staying at, and taking the Red-Line down to Wrigleyville for the Pre-party at the Cubby Bear. We went straight to the bar for beers and Justin ended-up buying 3 shots…. (it was just past 11am). Don’t worry, we did make it into the game, but only after we drank the bar out of Coors and had a few more shots. The game was great, I always love seeing games live, then I do on TV. The one thing that was bad, is that we didn’t have our tickets together. We had 3 different groups of people sitting in one section.

After the game, we went back to the hotel swam and got ready to go back out to the bars in Wrigleyville. I called a few friends of mine to meet-up with them at the bar and the final decision was for John Barleycorn’s…. what a great bar!! The crowd wasn’t too good on the dance floor, but I got over it when my buddy was dance-attacked by 4 girls. The funny part is that he can’t dance… all he does it the traditional white-boy side-to-side rock. I’m glad I had Jeanine to dance with so I didn’t have to be his Wingman… I’m glad Justin stepped-up. After dancing the night away, the bar closed and we were debating on what to do. We tried to get into another bar, but the bouncer wanted $10 a person for the last hour they were open and no one wanted to pay that. We finally decided to go to the next best place…. Taco Bell. I only say it’s the next best place, because the security guard had a small army attached to his hips (2 glocks). We finally left and went home but on the way, we talked Chris into calling his girl from earlier that evening… she was very angry when she left because she didn’t even get a hug as she left. After Chris talked to her for a bit we were back on the El heading to see the girls and hang-out on the Loyola beach…. and it was about 4:30am. We ended up staying there until about 5:30am or so and we still had to get home…. and that was just Friday night.

SATURDAY
Saturday was much more relaxed, we stopped-by a friend’s condo before heading to another friend’s open house party. Perfect night to follow-up the previous night. I did end-up staying awake until 2am or so. I wasn’t really worth much on Sunday because I woke-up early (7:30am) to eat breakfast with my sister. All in all… I’d say it was a great weekend! I love my life!

You can see the pictures…..

Sad Story About Flight 723 From Boston

So I was reading about this flight, number 723 which departed from Boston and it hit some turbulence which disabled the plane. Supposedly, the pilot said over the intercom that the plane was going down and everyone should do something they've always wanted to do...so this woman stood-up and said, "Somebody make me feel like a woman one last time!" Immediately, this guy across the aisle stood-up, unbuttoned his shirt and threw it at the woman while saying "Iron it bitch"!!!!!

Ha, Ha, Ha....
