LIFE'S NOT FAIR: So how I get to live instead of Rachel?... Why does life suck, I just don’t know. She was a much better person then I am.

Rachel A. Laird lifelong resident of Elk Grove Village Funeral services for Rachel A. Laird, 19, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 1045 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village, where she will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Born in Korea, she died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery. Rachel was a member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church, and a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. She is survived by her parents, Bruce and Rosemary Laird; her brother, Todd Laird; her grandparents, Rosario and Louise Viscione and the late Richard and Annette Laird; her aunts and uncles, Richard and Barbara Laird and Michael and Marybeth Viscione; her cousins, Donna Viscione, Michelle Viscione, Richard Laird III, Andrew Laird and Robin Kirste; and by countless friends. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, or to Children's Memorial Hospital.
